Dr. Barakat, a distinguished consultant cardiologist, excels at the Barts Heart Centre and imparts his expertise as a senior lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.


His esteemed private practice is situated at the Bridge Clinic in Maidenhead, Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, and the Spire Thames Valley in Slough, serving a broad spectrum of patients.


Dr. Barakat specialises in diagnosing and treating a variety of heart-related symptoms, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts, and ankle swelling, focusing on patient-centred care.

Growing up locally, Dr. Barakat attended Slough Grammar School, followed by studying medicine at Trinity College, Oxford. He completed his foundational training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1991.


He further specialised in general and interventional cardiology at esteemed London hospitals, including St Bartholomew's, The London Chest Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital. In 2001, he was awarded an MD in coronary artery disease from the University of London.
